I’m Nathaniel, a consultant by trade, a semi-professional photographer and serial attempted entrepreneur in Springfield, MO.
Professionally, I focus on computer security consulting. I travel the country working with companies of various types and sizes, ranging from small local governments to large international computer manufacturers. I am constantly trying to learn new technologies, even if they aren’t security related, because I believe understanding an environment as a whole will only improve the service I can provide my clients.
Photography is something I grew up around as my parents owned a photography studio when I was young. They taught me the basics and I eventually started to run with it on my own.
Over the years I’ve wanted to start my own business. In 2007 I started my own computer business to do consulting and server hosting. While that never really took off, I do still operate the business for a small number of clients.
In 2017 I ran to be elected to a local fire protection districts board of directors. Unfortunately, I lost, but I didn’t let that stop me from trying to provide a service to citizens. After my loss, I started a website dedicated to providing easy online access to public records. I fund everything myself and add new public records as time permits. The goal of the site is to solely provide access to the public records and ensure governmental entities are following the public records laws of the State of Missouri without providing any commentary on the contents of the records themselves.
In 2018 I started a drone and photography business. The motivation behind starting the business was so I could utilize drones to provide aerial imagery to fire departments for training purposes. That has since evolved into providing aerial photos to a wider range of clients, such as realtors.
After a couple of years of providing public records I decided I wanted to provide commentary on some of the records and other local issues without compromising the neutrality of the public records site. I started a news media company to help maintain the separation. While still in the early stages, I have mostly developed a new website and have recruited another contributor with others planned for the future.
